Min Zeng
Analyst & Portfolio Manager at Fidelity International
About
Bio: Min Zeng is an Analyst & Portfolio Manager at Fidelity International based in Tokyo.
He has worked for Fidelity for 10 years, joining full-time in 2011 after participating in the 2010 summer internship program as an undergraduate student. He is in charge of equity research covering the Japan Technology Hardware & Semiconductors sector while co-managing the Fidelity Mid-Small Cap Equity Open fund and the Fidelity Select Technology Japan fund.
At Fidelity, Min chaired the diversity committee Fidelity 4 Everyone's local chapter in 2017, and launched the Japan office's first LGBT+ awareness activities, which expanded into a continued series of guest-speaker workshops, annual sponsorship of the Tokyo Rainbow Pride, and drove changes to employment policies that enabled Fidelity to maintain Gold ranking since 2019 for the workplace Pride Index organized by "work with Pride" in Japan. For Pride 2021, Min hosted an online fireside chat with his friends, Bob Tobin and Hitoshi Ohashi to discuss LGBT+ inclusion and how everyone plays an important part as role models and allies.
Min comments: "I've always been different wherever I lived, whether it was during my childhood as a Chinese immigrant to Canada , or growing up in Japan where foreigners were a scarcity in school. I learned early on that masking my difference and assimilating to my surroundings was the safest way to survive. It wasn't until coming out to a supportive workplace at Fidelity, that I realized being honest and open to myself and to those around me is the only way I could truly THRIVE. I will continue to be a visible LGBT+ role model because I want to enable others around me to experience the immense joy of being free."
