In my commitment to championing diversity and inclusion within my organization, I have actively offered my support in addressing the absence of a formal DE&I committee. Collaborating closely with the HR department and management, I have expressed my availability to contribute to the formulation of a robust diversity statement, emphasizing best hiring practices to cultivate diversity across gender, sexual orientation, and backgrounds. Additionally, I have conveyed my willingness to assist in the conceptualization and development of the "Plus" project, aligning with the principles outlined in our diversity statement. Although these initiatives are still in the planning stages, my commitment underscores a forward-thinking approach to supporting the recruitment, well-being, and career progression of our diverse workforce, encompassing various ethnicities, cultural heritages, and nationalities. Despite the absence of a formal DE&I committee, my proactive engagement reflects an ongoing commitment to transforming our workplace into one that values and celebrates diversity at its core.
In my commitment to enhancing DE&I standards within our organization, I emphasize the personal application and a nuanced understanding of global DE&I initiatives implemented by leading firms. Notably, I was privileged to be selected by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for their enlightening three-day Proud workshop in Milan. This experience shed light on the challenges faced by some LGBTQ+ associates in undertaking projects in regions like the Middle East, where ensuring both safety and security becomes paramount. It underscored the significance of fostering a workplace where each employee feels safe and supported, emphasizing the need for care and understanding, particularly in sensitive matters such as religion and beliefs. My involvement in initiatives like these reflects my unwavering dedication to creating an inclusive environment that prioritizes the safety and well-being of every individual, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.
In the financial services sector, the importance of LGBTQ+ role modelling and allyship cannot be overstated. Beyond a commitment to diversity, fostering an inclusive environment is crucial for the success and well-being of LGBTQ+ employees. As I aspire to expand and strengthen this network, my goal is to involve advisory and investment firms across France and the UK. Through a collective and unwavering commitment, we can build a workplace culture that not only embraces diversity but actively supports and empowers LGBTQ+ individuals. The achievement of these objectives is contingent upon a dedicated and personal commitment to serve and enhance inclusivity within the financial industry, and this is precisely the ethos that guides my efforts in supporting LGBTQ+ professionals through initiatives like LGBTQ Great.
In anticipation of the future, my aspiration as a role model is to contribute significantly to the progression of LGBTQ+ rights, especially in continental Europe where visibility may still be evolving compared to Anglo-Saxon countries. I look forward to the prospect of guiding and supporting younger individuals, creating an environment where they feel empowered to express their true selves and unleash their talents without the weight of societal pressures. While this vision is not yet a certainty, I am motivated by the potential to play a pivotal role in fostering a more inclusive and accepting future.
I take immense pride in being a Project 1000 Role Model because I passionately believe in contributing to a positive and dedicated community. My commitment aligns to shape a financial sector that authentically mirrors the diverse needs of both employees and clients. Embracing the values of inclusivity, I am committed to fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of their background, can thrive and feel seen. #ProudToBeAP1000RoleModel 🌈✨
