About
Bio: Christopher Gohlke is a Director and the Global Head of Marketing & Communications at EquiLend, a global financial technology company, where is he responsible for managing the firm’s global marketing team and strategy. He has been with the firm since 2013. Prior to EquiLend, he spent six years as an editor at Global Custodian, the leading publication covering the securities services industry, during which time he travelled to five continents to interview local custody bankers and introduced social media and video content to the magazine in the early days of digital media.
While in university, he interned as a press officer with Plaid Cymru at the National Assembly for Wales in Cardiff, UK, and worked as a journalist for a number of newspapers in his native Ohio, USA. He graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio University, holds a Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University and has an MBA in International Business from LSUS.
Christopher has been active in diversity & inclusion initiatives since university and throughout his career. Most recently, he helped found and served as chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee at EquiLend. The EquiLend Diversity & Inclusion Committee is focused on fostering inclusiveness and embracing strengths in diversity, which includes a focus on the LGBT+ community. His leadership is also apparent from his appointment to the SIFMA Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council, which aims to advance diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the U.S. financial services industry.
As a visible member of the LGBT+ community himself, Christopher says he is pleased to be working at a company, and in an industry, that not only welcomes but embraces diversity and supports the LGBT+ community. He comments: "I am grateful to have always experienced support and allyship during my career within financial services, and I am passionate about providing the same support for others."
