Bio: Liz is a member of the Executive Board at St. James’s Place plc and leads the Corporate Affairs & People Division which covers Responsible Business (which includes inclusion and diversity), People, Communications & Events, Company Secretariat and Governance & Culture. Until recently she was a non-executive director of Saffron Building Society.
Liz trained and qualified as a solicitor at Clifford Chance. In 1994, she joined Sidley & Austin, a US law firm, to help set up their London office before moving in-house to ISL Marketing, a sports marketing and media company where she headed the legal team at ISL for three years working with sports governing bodies across the world. Following this she was appointed as the Legal Director & Company Secretary at World Snooker.
Prior to joining St. James’s Place in July 2015, Liz was a senior executive at Nationwide Building Society and, for the last 7 years of her time there was the Group General Counsel, leading a division of 150 people - lawyers, compliance professionals and company secretaries. In 2010, Liz was listed in the Lawyer’s ‘Hot 100 Lawyers’ list and she won The Lawyer’s In-House Lawyer of the Year in 2011. She was also a WeQual winner in 2019.
