About
Bio: Steve Butler is CEO of Punter Southall Aspire, a UK workplace pensions and finance planning business specialising in at retirement services.
He states: "Our mission is to build a more financially informed and secure society by changing the way people think about their savings. We are committed to finding new ways to transform people's financial future and help them retire well.
Continually improving diversity and inclusion core to our business strategy. In the past 18 months, we've experienced rapid business growth, acquiring four new companies and doubling the workforce. As CEO, my big challenge was to build an integrated business and inclusive culture. I wanted to ensure the company was a place where there are no barriers to success and people of any age, gender, colour, creed or sexual orientation can thrive and fulfil their potential.
I am very proud to support LGBT Great, which is a fantastic organisation championing equality and fairness, promoting the talent and skills of LGBT+ people and ensuring that diversity and inclusion in on the agenda in the investment industry which will help to eradicate discrimination and drive progress and change.
As a business we are working hard to improve our diversity and inclusion through the training and education of staff, restructuring the management teams and encouraging openness and discussions about personal wellbeing as well as work. This journey is ongoing.
We recently won the Diversity and Inclusion award at the Reward Awards 2019. We were also recently added to Renegade Generation's 'Leading Age-Friendly Employers' list, which recognises employers who are pioneering age diversity.
I'm also an Advisory Council Member for the Diversity Project - a cross industry initiative to drive change and serve as a Trustee at the Money Charity, which supports financial education in the community.
I am also passionate about promoting age diversity as I believe employers can better use the skills of different generations. I published my first book in October, <em>Manage the Gap: Achieving success with intergenerational teams'</em>, providing advice, learning and best practice to help employers manage age diversity. The book was shortlisted in the 2020 Business Book Awards as an exceptional book that promotes diversity'. "
