Tim Giles

EMEA Managing Director, Head of Investment UK&I at Aon

About

Bio: Tim is a Senior Partner and EMEA Managing Director for Aon's investment business. He has over 25 years' experience within pensions and investments. He leads Aon's relationships with a select number of clients as well as leading Aon's investment business in EMEA. Tim's roles bring him into contact with a diverse range of clients, and he uses this experience to bring a practical edge to his advice and deliver value to clients.

Tim represents Aon in the media, and through various public platforms and industry bodies, including the CEO Advisory board for the Diversity Project. Tim joined Aon (then Bacon & Woodrow) in 1998. Prior to that he worked at the predecessor firms of Willis Towers Watson, PwC and Royal Sun Alliance. He qualified as an actuary in 1996 and holds a degree in Economics from Warwick University.

He is married with three children in senior school. Skiing is a big part of family life either as a result of watching his eldest daughter compete or as part of family holidays. He loves rugby and has spent several years coaching junior teams. He has run marathons and competed in triathlons, but now tends to prefer less exhaustive exercise and walking the dog.

Tim states: "I strongly believe that every one of our colleagues, here at Aon and in the industry as a whole, should feel able to bring their whole selves to work and, in doing so, feel empowered to unleash their full potential. An environment of openness, support and of celebrating difference plays a huge role in enabling this. I am delighted to support this campaign and the work it is doing to foster an inclusive culture for LGBT colleagues, industry-wide - we are all, as organisations, employees, individuals, better for it."
