Kevin Tully

RFP Manager at Morningstar

About

Bio: My name is Kevin and I am a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant (RFP Specialist) for Morningstar, Inc. I am an American, currently working out of our London office, but will shortly be transferring to our Madrid office. I have spent 9 years working within the Financial Services industry, mainly in client facing and customer success roles. My career began in the financial planning space, working for Advicent Solutions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA, where I held customer support, manager of customer support, and enterprise relationship management roles. I then transferred to Morningstar, Inc in our Chicago, IL USA headquarters, where I held a Customer Success Manager role for our portfolio accounting solution, Morningstar Office. I covered our Southern California Registered Investment Advisor market.

My dream has been to work internationally, so I pivoted from our client advisory business to support our asset management clients by becoming a Customer Success Manager for our flagship investment research solution, Morningstar Direct, covering mid-sized asset managers and registered investment advisors for the whole state of California. My experience working with Morningstar Direct set me successfully for a Pre-Sales Consultant role, based in our London, UK office, supporting our sales generalist team with technical expertise of our enterprise solutions. I was later promoted to a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant (RFP Specialist) role, with an emphasis on improving the RFP response process across our EMEA business. My major task was to standardise a process for updating and maintaining content and gaining buy-in to a new process that would improve the overall quality and time to response of our Request for Proposals and Request for Information questionnaires.

I hold a bachelor's of science degree in Civil Engineering and a Spanish Language degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I have increased engagement and more emphasis on DE&I by participating in our Pride Portraits: Coming Out campaign, project managing our industry corporate Pride Party, and held leadership roles of our LGBT+ EMEA ERG. My vulnerability and empathy has fostered a sense of trust and support among my peers and colleagues, and helped push along issues that have needed to be addressed both within our company as well as our industry.
I am proud to be a Project 1000 Role Model because I am fortunate to be in a position to help others grow, and ultimately be the support for others that I wish I had growing up.
