Investment Week’s Editor-in-Chief, Katrina Lloyd, caught up with LGBT Great’s Founder and Global Managing Director, Matt Cameron to discuss six key questions about LGBT Great’s new FS Standards launching today, Tuesday 1st March 2022.
Being asexual means different things to different people. Asexual people experience little, or no sexual attraction. Sexual attraction means finding a person sexuality attractive but, there are also other forms of attraction. Examples include romantic attraction, which means desiring a romantic relationship with a person, or panromantic, which means that a person who is romantically attracted to others but not limited by their sex or gender.
International Lesbian Day is an annual day to celebrate and bring visibility to lesbians in the LGBT+ community. The purpose of the date is to celebrate and shine a light on the diversity of lesbians internationally. Whilst the exact foundation of International Lesbian Day is uncertain, it is widely believed that it began in Australia and New Zealand in 1980 when a Lesbian Day March was held in New Zealand. The first Australian event was held at the Collingwood Town Hall in Melbourne on October 13, 1990.
With attitudes towards sexual orientation and gender identity continuing to evolve, we believe that advancing LGBT+ diversity, equity and inclusiveness (DE&I) must become routine. As organisations adopt more inclusive practices and enhance their ESG focus, it is an opportune time for the financial services industry to come together and collectively address the barriers to LGBT+ progress. Uniting support across departments, and their stakeholders, at an enter-prise level is the only way.

WHAT IS INTERNATIONAL NON-BINARY PEOPLE’S DAY? International Non-Binary People’s Day is observed each year on the 14th July and aims to raise awareness of the issues faced by non-binary people around the world.
