Founded in London in 2015, NEXUS LGBTQ+ connects LGBTQ+ employee network leaders, sponsors, and chairs from over 150 UK and global organisations.
Our aim is to share strategies, best practices, and insights to grow LGBTQ networks, build connections, and drive meaningful workplace inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community.
LGBT Great is proud to partner with NEXUS LGBTQ+ to support and amplify the incredible work of LGBTQ+ network leaders and teams. Together, we’re creating spaces for connection and collaboration – helping networks and organisations drive meaningful belonging and inclusion for all. Because when your people prosper, everyone thrives.
How NEXUS LGBTQ+ works?
- We meet four times a year for in-person networking breakfasts in Central London. Attendance is completely free, we are volunteer led and hosting companies cover all event costs.
- Each event is hosted by a participating company and includes thought leadership, facilitated discussions, and opportunities to showcase LGBTQ+ charitable organisations.
- It’s a safe space for open dialogue, exploring challenging topics, and supporting one another.

Representatives from over 150 organisations currently participate, spanning industries such as: financial services, legal, professional services, technology, retail and consumer, public sector and more!

Meet the Team
Daniel Ricard, Founder and Chair, NEXUS LGBTQ+
Dan Ricard is the Founder of NEXUS LGBTQ+ which he established in 2015 to bring together LGBTQ+ employee network leaders across sectors through quarterly in-person networking breakfasts hosted by different participating companies in central London.
He is a Business Management Director for the COO function within LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) Data & Analytics. He previously held a number of different roles within PwC UK. Dan was recognised in the 2023 and 2024 Top 100 Outstanding LGBTQ+ Executives in business and volunteers his time with several LGBTQ+ charities.
Birgit Neu, Senior DEI Advisor, NEXUS LGBTQ+
Birgit Neu is an independent Senior DEI Advisor focussing on the crossroads of DEI, AI and the future of work. She supports organisations including multinational corporates, think tanks, non-profits, and UK sports with strategy design and implementation, change management, research and communications practices.
Previously, she was Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at HSBC, during which time she was named in the Top 20 Diversity Professionals in Industry by Global Diversity List and was Head of Diversity of the Year at the European Diversity Awards. Birgit is a Visiting Lecturer on DEI for Warwick Business School and a frequent contributor to thought leadership and advisory groups for leading organisations worldwide.
She is co-chair of Gender Networks, the UK network for gender employee network leaders, and founder and co-chair of KNIT, a network supporting DEI specialists to navigate new opportunities and challenges. As one of LinkedIn’s Top Voices and a regular speaker, panellist and facilitator, she is an influencer with a wide international reach in her field.
Cynthia Fortlage, Quarterly News Digest Lead, NEXUS LGBTQ+
Cynthia Fortlage is an award-winning speaker, writer, and consultant specialising in inclusive leadership, gender diversity, and intersectional human rights. Based in London, UK, she is the founder of The FORTLAGE Collective and brings over 30 years of executive and board-level experience to her work.
Through her global advisory and thought leadership, Cynthia has supported more than 500 organisations in over 30 countries to create inclusive cultures where everyone feels valued and empowered. Known to Nexus audiences as the presenter of the quarterly news, she brings her trademark clarity and warmth to every conversation. She is also the author of Acceptance without Understanding™—part of a long-term vision to inspire 1 billion people to embrace acceptance by 2050.
