Overview
This session will explore the multifaceted nature of LGBTQ+ identities and delve into the history, significance, and ongoing relevance of the Pride movement. Using data-driven insights, we will underscore the continued importance of Pride & inclusion today. Additionally, we will establish a foundation for navigating inclusive language related to LGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes for Attendees:
- Understanding LGBTQ+ Identities: We will begin by acknowledging the wide spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities and the inherent complexities within this diverse community. (~15 minutes)
- History and Relevance of Pride: This segment will explore the origins of the Pride movement, its historical context, and its enduring relevance in the present day. (~20 minutes)
- The Importance of Pride Today- A Data-Backed Perspective: Through the use of relevant data and statistics, we will illustrate why the Pride movement remains crucial in contemporary society. (~15 minutes)
- Foundations of Inclusive Language: This section will focus on establishing the fundamental principles of using inclusive language related to LGBTQ+ individuals in a professional setting. (~15 minutes)
- Dedicated Q/A: A dedicated Q/A slot at the end of the session. (~5 minutes)
