Dear Commissioners,

LGBT Great is a global organisation that helps organisations to become authentically inclusive, because when your people prosper, everyone thrives. We represent over 80 organisational member firms across financial services, professional services, and other industries committed to inclusion and belonging for all. We are writing in response to the EHRC’s consultation on the revised Code of Practice for Services, Public Functions and Associations, following the UK Supreme Court ruling in For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers (April 2025). While we recognise the legal context in which the EHRC is operating, we are deeply concerned about the potential implications of the revised guidance for transgender and intersex people, and for the organisations striving to support them. We know that some LGBTQ+ organisations have chosen not to respond to this consultation. We are writing this letter as we believe it is vital to be part of the solution. This letter outlines our position, our concerns, and our recommendations for a more inclusive and practical way forward.
