LGBT Great has today launched LGBT Great Careers with the #ProudWork campaign in partnership with Workable and alongside its global Financial and Professional Services membership community. LGBT Great Careers is a new global initiative to support employers and attract talent from under-represented backgrounds and represents an important part of LGBT Great’s mission to empower 1 million people by 2030.

The launch comes shortly after global LGBTQ+ Pride month, in the build up to National Inclusion Week, and when employers are striving to broaden the scope of their diversity, equity and inclusion strategies. Recent research has shown the barriers that LGBTQ+ talents face during recruitment processes and the importance of finding an employer that clearly reflects their identities and values.

LGBT Great Careers makes finding LGBTQ+ friendly employers easier for job seekers by providing access to career opportunities within organisations that have substantiated their work to create LGBTQ+ inclusive workplaces. The service empowers employers by improving their outreach and increasing the confidence of job seekers at the point of application. These two important community building activities will work to develop a new and under-represented pool of talent for the Financial and Professional Services industry.

The launch of the #ProudWork campaign also follows a detailed study of LGBTQ+ recruitment practices within some of LGBT Great’s member firms. The study led by LGBT Great’s insights team, explored the various challenges and opportunities facing organisations in attracting a wider pool of diverse talent from the LGBTQ+ and other under-represented communities. The study concluded that industry-specific and targeted attraction interventions would positively impact progress, and, importantly, that the need for progress is acknowledged across Financial and Professional Services employers.

LGBT Great Careers is a new joint venture with Workable, a SaaS technology platform and one of the world’s largest ATS providers. Workable is also the world’s fifth most used job board and LGBT Great Careers will provide a powerful central hub for LGBTQ+ talent and under-represented communities. This will include offering job postings, end-to-end talent management and applicant tracking, in addition to robust diversity data reporting and supporting resources for talent and hiring teams alike. A recent pilot found that 93% of applicants applying through the LGBT Great Careers platform felt safe enough to share their diversity and inclusion data.

Some of the first firms to back LGBT Great Careers include Fidelity International, Legal and General, Northern Trust, St James’s Place and T. Rowe Price along with twenty-three other firms, including Blackrock, Vanquis Banking Group and Schroders. Additional cohorts of LGBT Great Careers Partners will be announced from the end of September onwards to support LGBT Great in achieving its goal of one hundred LGBT Great Careers Partners. LGBT Great is inviting employers, job seekers, charities and social impact organisations to help support the mission and #ProudWork campaign:
