About
Bio: Janet is a member of the firm’s senior leadership team. As Head of our Hong Kong office, she is responsible for the management and regulatory oversight of the business activities. As director of Investments, Asia, she manages, recruits, and mentors the group’s investors in the Hong Kong and Tokyo offices. She ensures that they have the appropriate resources to serve the firm’s clients, works on strategic and tactical business issues for the team, and represents the group in meetings with clients, consultants, and prospects. She is a member of the Capital Commitments Committee, Compensation Committee and the Global Governance Committee.
Prior to her current responsibilities, Janet was a director in the Investment Strategy Team based in Boston, where she managed an investment team with capabilities in factor allocation, alternative risk premia, thematic investing, asset allocation, and manager research. Before that role, she was an investment director working with our regional APAC equity and global alternatives teams. Prior to rejoining Wellington Management in 2011, she was in institutional sales at Citibank in Singapore (2009 – 2011) and a portfolio strategist at Istithmar World in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) (2007). Before that, she spent three years at Wellington Management in Sydney and Hong Kong as a relationship analyst (2003 – 2006). She began her career at JP Morgan Chase (1998 – 2003) as part of its Management Associate program.
Janet received her bachelor of commerce (1996) from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
