Director of Global Communications at Thornbug Investment Management

About

Bio: I am the director of global communications for Thornburg Investment Management in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I oversee the firm's corporate communication activities and international media relations.

At Thornburg, we believe diversity is essential to providing the best and most innovative investment solutions for our clients. We embrace an inclusive corporate culture in which our employees feel welcome and comfortable sharing their identities, ideas, and experiences. We communicate annual progress reports with multiple diversity and inclusion metrics to internal and external stakeholders, actively recruit from sources designed particularly for underrepresented groups, and extend full benefits to same-sex spouses.

Before joining Thornburg in 2018, I was the director of communications and investor relations at Houston, Texas-based Salient Partners, L.P., a diversified asset management firm and provider of real asset and alternative investment strategies. Prior to joining Salient, I served as the investor relations manager at The Rohatyn Group, a New York based emerging markets alternative manager with assets in hedge funds and private equity. I started my career in New York at Bloomberg L.P. in multiple international client support and sales positions.

At previous firms and prior to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges, which guaranteed same-sex couples the right to marry, I successfully implemented inclusionary language when collectively referring to opposite and same-sex spouses or partners, and advocated to extend insurance benefits to same-sex partners. Since 2012, I have been a board member of the Financial Services Industry Exchange (FSIX), an independent LGBTQ networking organization for the financial services industry in New York and Los Angeles.

I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, am fluent in four languages, and hold a private pilot license.
