Stephen O'Connell

Client Services Manager and Product Specialist - Asia at Man Group


Bio: Stephen is from Dublin, Ireland, and works in sales and marketing for Man Group in Hong Kong. He provides support to the institutional business where he facilitates new projects and works with existing clients. His expertise spans client services, performance analysis, equity research and sales & marketing across the investment industry. Stephen holds an MA Hons degree from the University of Edinburgh in Japanese and Linguistics and an MBA from the London Business School. Prior to joining Man Group, he previously worked for the Bank of Ireland Asset Management and Newton Investment Management.

Stephen is a passionate diversity and inclusion advocate and he sits on Man Group's Drive (D&I) committee. He is also the regional LGBT+ lead for the Asia region and has helped provide an LGBT+ friendly workplace for colleagues by encouraging participation in awareness building initiatives, supporting events and marking Pink Dot celebrations in Asia. External to Man Group, Stephen is a member of Inter-Bank Hong Kong, an organisation focussed on improving equality for LGBT+ people by lobbying for legislative progress.
