Robyn Grew
President at Man Group plc
About
Robyn Grew is Group COO and General Counsel of Man Group, and a member of the Man Group Senior Executive Committee. Her role encompasses responsibility for the firm's infrastructure, operations, technology, compliance, legal, human resources, talent, business operational risk, financial crime and corporate facilities functions.
As the Chair of Man Group's Drive (D&I) steering committee, Robyn leads the firm's diversity and inclusion agenda and is a key driver of the Paving the Way campaign, which seeks to create a pathway for diverse candidates to enter and succeed within the investment industry. She is also the senior sponsor of Man Group's LGBT+ network, Pride@Man, and works with the network on events, initiatives, and internal and external engagement. Robyn leads the firm's initiatives to promote staff engagement and inclusion, including the gender-neutral enhanced parental leave policy and the annual Pride Month celebrations, which most recently centred on the importance of allyship.
Robyn is a regular speaker at various industry and diversity-focused initiatives, and has contributed to industry papers on diversity, including in her capacity as vice chair of the Alternative Investment Management Association and chair of its D&I Steering Group. She has also been a panellist at several LGBT Great webinars, including on Pride and allies, and to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.
The events of the past year have further emphasised the importance of allyship and the role we each play in promoting equality, inclusivity and belonging for all. Robyn is a proud member of the LGBT+ community and stands as an ally to all. She encourages Man Group's employees to be upstanding in calling out inequality and making our company a place where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive.
Robyn comments: "Allies are critical supporters and advocates. What stands an ally apart is their active choice to add their support and voice to representing others. Allies do not take the easy route of standing by passively, they stand up, they add their presence, their advocacy and they do so altruistically. That is a powerful combination. I grateful for the allies in this world and immensely impressed by the courage it sometimes takes to standup when you really don't have to."
