About

Bio: Mark is the Head Diversity, Inclusion and Well-being for M&G Plc, an international savings and investments business with over 7 million customers across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas. Mark is responsible for architecting a firmwide diversity and inclusion strategy that will leverage organisational strengths, remain nimble in the every-changing global business climate and enable M&G Plc to maintain their competitive advantage by driving innovation to its customers.

Prior to M&G Plc, Mark and his husband Carlos moved to the UK in 2011 to join Barclays PLC, a trans-Atlantic consumer and investment bank, as the first Head of Global Diversity and Inclusion responsible for designing and implementing a global diversity and inclusion strategy. In addition to his responsibilities to the global strategy, Mark was the driving force behind Barclays headline sponsorship of Pride in London and the expansion of support of over 15 regional prides across the UK.

Mark has also held the positions Director of Diversity and Inclusion for Booz Allen Hamilton, a professional services firm in Washington D.C. and Chief Diversity Officer for Whirlpool Corporation, a Fortune 500 global consumer products company in Benton Harbor Michigan. While at Whirlpool Corporation Mark was one of three founding members of the OutCenter, the first LGBT community center in southwest Michigan, located in Benton Harbor.

Mark is a member of the Lord Mayor of London’s Appeal fundraising Board along with leadership roles as the Vice-Chair of the International Business and Diplomatic Exchange diversity advisory committee, a Past Master of The Guild of Human Resource Professionals, a member of the ABI board of directors executive diversity committee and held the role of commissioner for the Equality and Human Rights commission from 2019 to 2023. In 2014, 15, 16 and 19 Mark was recognised by The Guardian’s global LGBT power list, the Financial Times 100 LGBT business leaders in London, named to the top 50 global Diversity Executives by the Economist and recognized as an innovative HR leader by HR Magazine and PeopleHum.com.
