About
Bio: Andrzej is a fund manager in the Multi-Asset Funds team at Legal & General Investment Management. His responsibilities cover the portfolio management and on-going development of both institutional and retail multi-asset funds, including multi-factor equity funds. Prior to joining LGIM in July 2014, he was a fund manager at Aviva Investors. Originally from Poland, he completed the MSc programme in Finance at Bocconi University in Italy and also holds a bachelor's degree in economics and social science from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
Andrzej recognised that in his first years of working in the City, he spent a lot of energy pretending to be someone different to who he was very comfortable being outside of work. This disconnect meant he found it difficult to be open in front of his colleagues which he found stressful, particularly in work social interactions.
Coming out made him realise the benefits of being truly authentic at work. He now focuses that misspent energy doing what he really values and enjoys building genuine connections with others. He is lucky to be working in a very open and tolerant team that fully embraced him as an individual.
Having been on that journey, he now recognises the importance of being visible on the investment floor and across the industry. He hopes that new joiners in firms around the City will be encouraged to be open about who they are. This way they can focus their passion and drive on what made them join that industry in the first place rather than lose steam on trying to reconcile their work life with their life at home.
