Michael Harrats

About
Bio: Michael Harrats is a senior pensions lawyer leading a team of lawyers supporting Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM)'s DB and DC institutional and workplace pensions propositions. Michael also advises on regulated funds solutions in the pensions space, predominately Irish domiciled Qualifying Investor Alternative Investment Funds.
In addition, Michael is a founding member of Legal & General's LGBT+ and allies network which represents and brings together LGBT+ people and those who don't identify as LGBT+ together to put in place initiatives across Legal & General. Michael has played a key role in the network's annual involvement with Pride in London, the UK's largest LGBTQ+ pride event.
Prior to joining LGIM in 2013, Michael held a private practice role within a well-regarded investment funds and financial services regulatory team at a City law firm. Michael trained at one of Scotland's leading law firms and is a graduate of the University of Glasgow where he obtained a first class honours degree in law and a Diploma in Legal Practice. Michael is qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland.
