About
Bio: Wendy joined HSBC in November 2017 and currently works in IT COO as a Global Programme Manager. She has over 30 years' experience of working in Finance and Operations across multiple industries, including Distribution, Publishing, Telecoms and Financial Services. Working for large corporate institutions such as Barclays, British Telecom and Lloyds.
Her detailed knowledge of technology has provided her with the opportunity to bring IT, Finance and the Commercial contracts together, to find solutions for support shared services, keeping the lights on, and transformational projects incorporating business process improvements with strategic insight.
Wendy is a strong leader, and her personal values are built on integrity, trust and a passionate conviction around everything she does.
Whilst at Lloyds Wendy became actively involved as an LGBT Ally, ensuring that all teams across IT/Finance were diverse and inclusive, and providing a support network for colleagues to talk and openly discuss issues and concerns. Wendy is looking to do the same in her new role at HSBC.
She believes that all allies have a critical role to play in creating an inclusive workplace, wherein all feel safe to openly discuss concerns in a collaborative and complementary way. Wendy will equally act as a change agent amongst the teams in which she works, to provide them with the knowledge of what it means to be an ally and what role others can play in supporting their LGBT friends and family
Outside of work, Wendy is a keen boxing fan and participant, and enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and family dog Harley Bear.
