Ronan Clifford
Senior Director at Honeywell
About
Bio: Rónán Clifford is Treasury Director for Honeywell, based in their Brussels office. He is responsible for country management from a treasury perspective across EMEA, looking after the treasury needs of the business, including finance, liquidity, M&A and relationships with banking partners.
Rónán has worked in the financial sector for some time, across back, middle, and front office roles within treasury. Following the financial crisis, he refocused his skills and moved towards the corporate space, helping to establish the treasury centre of a new animal health business as part of Pfizer's strategic divestiture in 2013. Due to this, he relocated from Dublin to Brussels to gain additional international experience. Following that, Rónán moved to Honeywell, and over the last 5 years has worked to support and deliver all aspects of treasury.
Honeywell has a strong commitment to creating inclusive cultures, and through diversity networks and a diversity forum, fosters professional growth and helps to build an inclusive work environment. Through the development of "Honeywell Behaviors", all employees can feel included and welcome in the business, and Rónán is no different.
He says: "I've previously worked in environments where being out and open wasn't necessarily encouraged, and it has a big impact on an individual. Knowing that Honeywell has a zero tolerance view of discrimination meant that I could feel confident to be myself at work, and the fact that I've been successful proves that you don't have to compromise yourself to achieve and progress your career.
When I think of my niece and nephews, I don't want them to be held back by any kind of glass ceilings', regardless of gender, sexuality, or anything else. Everyone should have the same opportunities, and feel empowered to bring their best selves to work."
