About
Bio: Martina is the Hg's Deputy COO and a Partner of the firm with responsibility for Hg Operations, working closely with Hg's main Board and the Firm's Managing Partners.
Martina is directly responsible for managing over 50 people across the Firm, including across the Finance, IT, HR and Firm Management functions. Martina is committed to drive impact of Hg's Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, establishing the Hg Charity Foundation, which is working to address inequality via education and in 2020 set up Hg's first ever D&I Steering Group. The Steering Group aims to promote a culture of inclusion that clearly values diversity in all its forms, in order to create a team of the best possible talent by ensuring that it is built from the broadest range of potential employees.
LGBTQ+ was set up as a specific sub-group for the Steering Group from its onset. Martina is an out and proud ally and has been fundamental in kick starting Hg's journey into the fully inclusive workplace it should be.
She comments: "We want to provide an environment that brings out the very best from our colleagues. We cannot expect people to achieve their greatest potential if they are not bringing their whole self to work. If the statistics show that over a third of LGBTQ+ staff hide that they are LGBTQ+ at work, then clearly more needs to be done. We at Hg are proud allies of anyone identifying as LGBTQ+ and are committed to creating a workplace of diversity and equality for all. Whilst we are early on in our own initiatives, we hope that our actions will not only benefit Hg as a firm, but also demonstrate support for the LGBTQ+ community more generally, helping to highlight the issues and discrimination that this community faces daily and encourage further support from others in the business world."
