Bio: Kirsten Kooy is Talent Acquisition Director, APAC EMEA and Americas at Franklin Templeton, leading recruitment for the Americas, Asia-Pac and Europe, including a major site in Poznan.

The firm is a US headquartered asset management company with approx. 9,000 employees globally and circa 350 employees across its three UK sites.

Kirsten has an MBA, is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development. Her 30 year career in HR has covered a variety of sectors, including Economic Development and Finance. She leads skilled teams based in more 11 locations, sourcing and hiring key talent across the globe.

A key focus of her role is ensuring that Franklin Templeton attracts diverse candidates to build on and strengthen the already inclusive culture. For example, all recruiters are trained in Unconscious Bias and there is currently a focus ensuring hiring leaders are trained in Diversity and Inclusion and have the right tools.

Kirsten has been an active Ally in the Franklin Pride@FT, since its inauguration. Pride@FT is Franklin Templeton's LGBT+ Business Resource Group. She has also been busy in the Stonewall WEI submission team, increasing Franklin Templeton's ranking by 108 places in 5 years. Kirsten is a member of Franklin Templeton's Diversity and Inclusion Executive Committee.

It's important to me that people can be their authentic selves at work as well as at home."

Kirsten lives in Edinburgh with her husband and enjoys the cultural activities the city has to offer. She loves travel and has just returned from a short spell working in the Franklin Templeton Singapore office, where she benefited from learning about local culture - and sampling the amazing variety of food.
