Bio: Szu Yi Chan is the Head of Wealth and Product, Asia Pacific for Schroders. Prior to working at Schroders Szu Yi was the Head of Taiwan for Fidelity International. She assumed this role in January 2019 to partner with the local and regional functional teams to grow the market, as well as to head up the institutional sales and marketing teams in Taiwan. Szu Yi joined Fidelity International in July 2014 as the Head of Intermediary Sales covering Singapore and South East Asia. Szu Yi holds a Bachelor of Business specialising in Financial Analysis from Singapore's Nanyang Technological University. In addition, she is also a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.
Szu Yi has accumulated 22 years of experience working in the asset management industry and financial sector. Before joining Fidelity, Szu Yi worked at Deutsche Bank where she was responsible for marketing ETFs, systematic funds, active funds and alternative solutions to intermediary clients. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Szu Yi spent 12 years with Schroder Investment Management's Singapore and Hong Kong offices in various capacities, including mutual funds business development as well as being a product specialist for the Multi-Asset investment team. Szu Yi also worked for Standard Chartered Bank and AIG Group. Szu is a passionate LGBT+ ally and she takes an active role in advocating for equality across Fidelity International. She was inspired when Taiwan became the first island nation in Asia to legalise same-sex marriages in May 2019. Moving forward, she is working to encourage others in the region to join LGBT Great's Project 1000 initiative.
She comments: "I made my first LGBT+ friend 10 years ago and he's become one of the most motivational people in my life. I am inspired by how he deals with adversaries and counts his blessings everyday to be able to do what he truly believes in. I believe everyone in the world deserves an equal place and a safe environment to express one's beliefs and do what truly makes one happy."
