Marte comments: "I've always been fighting for equality and probably always will. I do it because there is nothing like feeling like you belong. Have you ever felt what it's like to go to work and not be who you are? Or looked at your company's leadership and not seen anyone like you? If not, then try to imagine what it's like.

For me the fight for diversity can't be just about the numbers, it's about people. For a long time, the focus amongst investors and companies has been to show how diversity can make money, because diverse companies outperform those that are not. That's both true and important, but at the end of the day it is also simply the right thing to do. I think it's time to take a step back and remember that companies are run not just by money, but by people. Human beings. We have the power to make work a place where anyone can belong. So let's get on with it!"
