Solutions Strategist at Legal & General

About

Bio: Chris is a Solutions Strategist at LGIM America. Chris joined the firm in 2017 and contributes to the development and structuring of customized investment solutions. In his role, he helps design custom liability-driven investment strategies for institutional investors across a diverse set of client channels. Chris started his career at Goldman Sachs in 2012 within the Securities Division as a Credit Sales Analyst before transitioning to the Asset Management Division.

Chris is originally from the Chicago-land area and earned a BA in Finance from Cornell University. He is also a CFA charter holder. Upon graduation, he was motivated to reconnect with family and friends and moved back to Chicago where he lives today with his wife and 2 year old son, Blake.

Chris attributes his career progression to building lasting relationships with mentors and professional champions. He feels lucky to have met senior leaders throughout his career who have advocated on his behalf. Early on in his career, Chris's professional responsibilities focused more on his soft skills. As he and his career aspirations evolved, he committed himself to further developing his technical skillset. This led him down the path of studying for the CFA exams which enabled him to better understand the investment landscape and enhance his confidence in the workplace.

Chris played collegiate basketball at Cornell University and still tries to relive the glory days by playing with friends and colleagues. Chris also enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family, and kicking his feet up and getting lost in the latest mystery novel. Chris is passionate about equality and contributing to an inclusive workplace. He feels strongly that we should strive to create a professional environment that is welcoming and allows everyone to feel secure at the workplace.

Chris comments that:

"LGIM America has been a proud supporter of the LGBT+ community and promotes an inclusive culture for all. This allows everyone to feel secure and welcome in the workplace and promotes a collaborative, team-first culture and attitude. I am proud to be a Project 1000 Role Model because I'd like to play a small part in supporting my firm, colleagues and promoting an inclusive environment for all".
