My background is over 15 years of consultancy, market research and sustainability for a wide range of blue chip companies in industries from consumer goods to travel to financial services. My early career was focused more on marketing, innovation and business strategy through trends and foresight analysis, including short-term innovation and activation and long-term planning through techniques like scenario analysis and market modelling. Across my career, I have worked through the full range of responsibilities, from data analysis - qualitative and quantitative, storytelling for impact, project management, client sales, account development and team leadership. I have mentored both within and outside my organisations and look forward to the chance to help develop more people.
I am a cis queer man (he/him) and we can explore together the experience of navigating client-facing roles and building networks when working in international business with colleagues and clients across many cultures and countries, where attitudes to LGBTQ+ people can vary.
The mentorship is all about your needs, with me steering or challenging where I see there is even more you can explore. So, first we'll first narrow down what you most want to focus on e.g. technical skills, soft skills, confidence building, network development etc. As well as those practical specifics, one of the most useful parts of mentoring I have seen is helping to expand the range of possibilities - what more you can do, try, see and grow into, both within the mentorship and more importantly beyond its confines.
