About
Bio: Dr. Tamara Scheidl was born in 1983 in Austria and holds both a Master of Science and a Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Innsbruck. She brings nearly 25 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical sector, having commenced her career in 2001 as a Quality Control intern. Over the years, she has developed a robust cross-functional expertise spanning Analytical Research & Development, Regulatory Affairs, and mainly Quality Assurance. Tamara has held several strategic leadership roles within Sandoz Austria, including Head of Quality Control and Head of Compliance, where she was instrumental in driving regulatory alignment and operational excellence. Her career trajectory has been predominantly shaped within the global Quality organization of Novartis and Sandoz, where she has served in high-impact roles such as Platform Lead for Quality Control, Global Head of Quality Control & Analytical Sciences, and on top of these roles she acted as Global Quality Responsible for two manufacturing sites in Asia. These roles have positioned her at the forefront of global quality strategy, governance, and technical innovation. In her current capacity as Head Global Quality Solutions at Sandoz, Tamara leads a globally distributed organization of over 350 professionals. Her team delivers critical quality services and technical infrastructure across all manufacturing sites and functional domains, ensuring harmonization, compliance, and continuous improvement.
In 2023, Tamara publicly came out as a transgender woman within the workplace. She now serves as the Lead of the Sandoz Austria LGBTQIA+ Community of Belonging and Co-Lead of the Sandoz Global LGBTQIA+ Community of Belonging, championing inclusion and equity across the enterprise. Under her leadership, Sandoz launched its inaugural Transgender Workplace Transition Guide, a comprehensive resource supporting transgender associates, their teams, and HR professionals. In 2025, Sandoz was awarded the Stonewall Silver Certification in its first submission to the Global Workplace Equality Index, a testament to its commitment to inclusive workplace practices. Tamara’s contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion have been recognized with two prestigious awards in 2025: the LGBTQIA+ Leader Role Model Award from Pride Biz Austria, and the EPBN-WISE Role Model Award from the European Pride Business Network, under the patronage of the European Commission.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Tamara is a dedicated advocate for transgender rights. She is a speaker at national and international Pride events, DEI symposia, and industry conferences, and collaborates with NGOs to support transgender youth through e.g. internship opportunities and healthcare initiatives. She is also politically active in advancing LGBTQIA+ rights in Austria, Europe and Asia. Tamara is married to her wife, Kavita, and is a proud mother of one son.
