Bio: John Claisse joined Albourne in July 1996 and became CEO in August 2015. John is an equity partner and member of Albourne’s Executive Committee, Corporate Planning Council, and also leads the firm’s DEIB Committee & Council. John serves on the Governing Board of The Robert Toigo Foundation, the Advisory Board of the University of Sussex Business School, and as a Trustee of the Standards Board of Alternative Investments (SBAI).
John has been the Executive Sponsor of Albourne Pride, Albourne’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, since its founding in 2021. John is a vocal and visible ally, actively supporting Albourne Pride’s mission to foster an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ Albourne employees and allies. As an ally, John wears a Pride flag pin on his lapel every day to the office and on business trips but would not do so if he didn’t match intent with action. With 11 offices globally, Albourne Pride supports LGBTQ+ charities and organizations internationally and offers in-person and virtual educational sessions on topics impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
John resides in Oakland, CA with his wife, Sarah, an accomplished community college professor; they are proud parents to two daughters who are currently in college.
John comments:
“I have always considered myself to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, however, I came to realize that unless you were a friend who was already out to me, how would they know? I want there to be no ambiguity, especially now! …everyone has a voice, and I am determined to use mine to advocate for inclusion.”
