Benjamin Slater
Associate Director at Lloyds Banking Group
About
Bio: Ben Slater is an Associate Director within the CIB Lending, Trade & Working Capital team at Lloyds Bank. Ben is only 4 years into his career, but he has demonstrated a strong commitment to DE&I throughout, illustrated through his execution of activity and leadership within the Commercial division of the Lloyds Bank, and more recently through his role on the Group's LGBTQ+ ERG SteerCo as the External Relationships Lead.
Ben has continually engaged with senior stakeholders within Lloyds Bank, as well as a diverse external base of clients and peers across the Financial Industry and beyond. This includes running a series of LGBTQ+ focused speaker events over the past 2 years which have centred around thought leadership, education, and client engagement.
Outside of Lloyds, Ben is a member of the Interbank Committee, aiming to help share best practice across the Financial Services industry and improve networking opportunities for junior LGBTQ+ talent. Ben also volunteers for the DEI Committee at Out to Swim (the World's Largest LGBTQ+ Masters Aquatics Club), where he has been competing internationally for the past 3 years.
More recently Ben has also been invited to speak in panels where he has discussed the intersectionality of disability, sports, and sexual identity.
