Jamie Miller
Data Analyst at Legal & General
About
Bio: Jamie started at Legal & General in 2023 as part of the Cnect Wales financial services graduate scheme and has since moved to his permanent role as a Data Analyst in the Group Data Science team, where he delivers a range of reporting and automation activities. Since graduating with a bachelor’s in French and German Linguistic Studies from the University of Southampton, Jamie took a bit of a winding path into his career as a Data Analyst, having worked in a variety of roles including teaching, project management, sales, and theatre, completing a master’s in Financial Services Management along the way.
Jamie wants to help build an environment where LGBT+ colleagues feel safe, supported, and welcomed in their work life. A key aspect to this is supporting L&G to embed LGBT+ inclusion into its culture at an institutional level. To help achieve this goal, Jamie is participating in the L&GBT+ Network’s HR, Policy and Recruitment work stream to review HR policies from an LGBT+ perspective.
Jamie also believes in the importance of connecting LGBT+ employees across the business, so that colleagues can see and participate in the diverse community that exists at L&G. Joining the committee for Legal & General’s L&GBT+ Network has allowed Jamie to help support the network in fostering this sense of community within the workplace. Being openly transgender at work has also given Jamie the opportunity to connect with and support other gender diverse colleagues, and to provide visibility and insight into the trans community.
