About

Bio: Stella Campaner (She/Her/Ela/Ella) is the Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategic Advisor for Citi Pride at Citi. In this role, she sets the LGBTQIA+ strategy for the firm, and works with the Citi Pride Network, comprised of 39 chapters and more than 10K members globally.

She has been a longstanding DEI leader. She led the formal launch of the Pride and Women’s communities at Bloomberg in São Paulo in 2013. She also inspired and introduced Diversity Week to São Paulo to bring awareness to inclusion of minorities, engage employees and allies, foster an inclusive culture among employees and leverage partnerships with clients in the region. She moderated and participated in panels about transgender families, professional lesbians and LGBTQ+ women and bringing your authentic Self to work.

Stella has over 20 years of experience and prior to her current role, she worked for 15 years at Bloomberg in São Paulo and NY, working in Human Resources, Global Philanthropy in LatAm and NAM, and leading Recruiting and DEI Recruiting in LatAm. Her DEI work was ongoing in all her roles, especially in Recruiting when she worked to bring diverse pipelines of Black Brazilians, People with Disabilities and LGBTQIA+ inclusion in LatAm.

Stella has developed and managed relationships and strategies to increase employee engagement, while supporting nonprofits and community needs. Stella was a liaison to the Diversity and Inclusion groups, bringing opportunities to connect philanthropic efforts to engage the DEI chapters. She has volunteered for years with PFLAG in their Trans families Project and Gender Conference, has been a Read Ahead mentor to elementary school children, Career advisor for LGBTQ+ refugees and professionals, CUNY students from The City Tutors and Military and Veterans from American Corporate Partners (ACP).

Prior to Citi and Bloomberg, she worked at Walt Disney World and the Emiliano Hotel in São Paulo. During her career, she was named the “Most Outstanding Cast Member” at Disney in 2000, “Employee of the Year” at Emiliano Hotel in 2004, “Sales and Customer Service Awards”, “Philanthropy Champion” and “People’s Choice” during her 15 years at Bloomberg and “Partner of the year” in 2022 at Citi.

Stella was born in Jundiai, Brazil. She completed a BA in Tourism/Hospitality and holds qualifications Sustainability and Social Sector at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and Diversity Equity and Inclusion Certification at E-Cornell. Stella is currently pursuing a Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Fordham University in NY. She speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish and is very proud of her family and
LGBTQIA+ community. She loves to play tennis, hear people’s stories and explore new cultures.
