I am proud to be a Project 1000 role model because I would like to show the next generation of colleagues coming into financial services in Asia that it is possible to be who they truly are from Day #1 and still have a thriving career. I will show them how. I am a firm believer that one's true self identity is not negotiable. I did not "keep my head down" and wait until I was senior enough or had nothing to lose before I came out. I believed our industry is better than that and I made a conscious decision to take a path which over a decade ago was not taken. I worked my way up the career ladder being who I truly am and rallied friends and colleagues around me. The world and our industry have changed, and I want to share this far and wide. There is creativity and innovation to be had in difference and beauty in diversity to be found.
