Matthew Rayner
Principle Solutions Consultant at BNY Mellon
About
Matthew is a Principal Solutions Consultant for Global Risk Solutions in the UK and has been with BNY Mellon since 2001. He provides both internal and external product and technical training, as well as actively contributing to business development, product development and supporting operations. He is the primary GRS Consultant for several asset owners and investment managers across the EMEA region.
Matthew graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) degree in Criminology, due to an interest in crime and criminal justice. In addition, he also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) from the CFA Institute.
Matthew started as an Operations Analyst at BNY Mellon and then became a team leader. He later moved to a client facing role as a Product Specialist, moving soon to Senior Product Specialist and now works as a Principal Solutions Consultant.
Outside of work, Matthew likes to keep physically fit with activities such as swimming, cycling and running. He also enjoys live music and spending time with his family and pets. He was motivated to get involved due to educational events hosted by the BNY Mellon employee/business resource group that promotes LGBTQ+ inclusion, called PRISM, which made him realise the importance of allyship.
Matthew comments:
“BNY Mellon have inclusion and diversity as one of the core pillars of our values and behaviours, so it’s part of our DNA. From the day that I started with the company, it felt like an inclusive place to work, and we continue to work on initiatives to better educate our employees on DEI issues, encourage people to bring their whole self to work, as well as focusing on the diversity of our organisation.”
“I am proud to be a Project 1000 Role Model because as a white male, who is striving to be a better ally, I want to highlight the importance and benefit of LGBT+ inclusivity in the financial services industry.”
