Carol Ward
President of Man GLG at Man Group
About
Carol is President of Man GLG and a member of the Man Group Executive Committee. Previously, Carol held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Man GLG and, prior to that, she was at Man AHL, where she held a number of roles, including Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Man Group in 2010, she worked at Fidelity International. Carol is a member of the AIMA Research Committee and a Trustee of the Man Group Charitable Trust.
Carol champions diversity and inclusion (D&I) both at Man Group and externally. She is co-chair of Man Group's LGBT+ network, Pride@Man, and works to support, advise and further the network's engagement with the firm more broadly. She is also a member of Man Group's Drive (D&I network) London working group, which is comprised of 10 people from across the business that advise, manage and are responsible for D&I initiatives at the firm.
As a sister to two gay brothers, Carol's role as an LGBT+ ally is something that she has tried to fulfil in a personal capacity for over 20 years. She is a proud and passionate ally of the LGBT+ community and advocates that all allies have a critical role to play in creating an inclusive workplace and community where we can bring the best out in all people. Carol has shared her insights and personal experiences on allyship through leading internal events on the topic, both during Pride Month and Man Group's Global Inclusion Week celebrations last year. She has also contributed to industry papers and panels focusing on how firms are improving diversity in all forms within their organisations.
She comments: "I am proud that Man Group is one of the first ten founding members of LGBT Great and I am proud to feature in this important initiative because as an ally, now more than ever, we have a collective responsibility to lift each other up. I am a visible ally for all my LGBT+ friends, family and colleagues because I believe in equality and acceptance for all. Allies can come in the form of an active supporter, a sympathetic shoulder or a champion for simply doing the best by people - all people."
