About
Bio: Matthias is a Senior Legal Counsel at T. Rowe Price, based in Luxembourg. He is responsible for all matters concerning the Luxembourg fund range of the T. Rowe Price Group as well as the European separate account mandates and related corporate matters and main contact person for German, Swiss and Austrian legal matters.
After graduating from the universities of Cologne and Paris, Matthias passed both bar exams in Germany and started his career as a lawyer specialized in Mergers & Acquisitions in a German law firm. He was involved in national and international mergers and negotiations of international agreements. His desire to have more exposure to international matters brought him to Luxembourg where he worked for more than 2.5 years in a leading law firm in the fund structuring team before joining T. Rowe Price as an in-house lawyer. The decision to join T. Rowe Price was driven by the interest to be involved in the entire lifecycle of funds and the day-to-day challenges of management companies and investment funds in an international environment.
Matthias is involved in the T. Rowe Price PRIDE committee since he joined the firm in 2019 and since 1 January 2022, he is one of the co-chairs of the EMEA Chapter of the T. Rowe Price PRIDE committee. He comments that being an active member of the committee and engaging actively with other associates is extremely important to him.
He comments, “Being out and proud is not always an obvious thing. I am happy to be able to share my own experiences and to help others and create awareness.”
