Overview
This session will explore the intersection of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investing and LGBTQ+ inclusion. We will define ESG investing and delve into the key findings of LGBT Great's "A New Frontier" (2021) report. The session will then focus on the benefits of incorporating an LGBTQ+ lens into investment strategies, while also acknowledging the existing barriers. Finally, practical tips will be provided to guide participants in making LGBTQ+-sensitive investment decisions.
Learning Outcomes for Attendees:
- What is ESG Investing? A foundational explanation of ESG investing, its core components, and its growing importance in the financial landscape. (~10 minutes)
- Key Findings from "A New Frontier" (2021): This segment will present the key insights and data from LGBT Great's report, highlighting the connection between LGBTQ+ inclusion and financial performance. (~10 minutes)
- Investing with an LGBTQ+ Lens: The Benefit: We will explore the advantages and positive impacts of integrating an LGBTQ+ perspective into investment strategies, including potential financial returns and social impact. (~15 minutes)
- Barriers to Investing from an LGBTQ+ Lens: This section will address the challenges and obstacles that hinder the wider adoption of LGBTQ+-focused investment approaches. (~10 minutes)
- Practical Tips for LGBTQ+-Sensitive Investment Decisions: Participants will receive actionable advice and practical guidance on how to incorporate LGBTQ+ considerations into their investment choices. (~10 minutes)
- Dedicated Q&A: A dedicated question and answer period to address queries and facilitate open discussion. (~5 minutes)
