Overview
This session will re-introduce the business case for DE&I data programmes, highlighting how data improves decision-making with a specific example of unlocking insights in talent acquisition. We will then explore industry insights from LGBT Great member firms, utilising data from the iiBT benchmark to identify successful strategies for improving data disclosure rates. The session will address common employee concerns around data sharing, such as privacy, bias, discrimination, performativity, and tokenism, and explore mitigation strategies. Finally, we will discuss practical actions that organisations, management/leadership, and ERGs can take to boost comfort around data sharing.
Learning Outcomes for Attendees:
- The Business Case for DE&I Data Programmes: We will re-examine the rationale behind DE&I data programmes, focusing on how data-driven insights lead to better decision-making, using talent acquisition as a key example. (~15 minutes)
- Industry Insights and Best Practices: This segment will showcase data and insights from LGBT Great member firms via the iiBT benchmark, highlighting successful approaches to improving data disclosure rates. (~20 minutes)
- Addressing Employee Concerns: We will explore common employee concerns related to data sharing (privacy, bias/discrimination, performativity/tokenism) and discuss strategies to mitigate these concerns effectively. (~15 minutes)
- Practical Actions to Boost Comfort with Data Sharing: This section will outline actionable steps for organisations, management/leadership, and ERGs to create a more comfortable environment for employees to share data. (~15 minutes)
- Dedicated Q/A: A dedicated Q/A slot at the end of the session. (~5 minutes)
