Allyship for All

Overview
Allyship is rooted in understanding one’s own privilege and identity. The most important step in building a strong foundation of allyship is self-reflection, which in many instances may require challenging and confronting your own privilege and biases. In this awareness session, LGBT Great aims to empower attendees in exploring their identities and drawing motivations of allyship from their own unique experiences.
Learning Outcomes for Attendees:
- Understanding the Current Landscape: Gain data-driven insights into why discussions about intersectionality and allyship are crucial in 2025. (~5 minutes)
- Defining Key Concepts: Develop a clear understanding of "intersectionality," "allyship," "privilege," and "power," and how they intersect. (~10 minutes)
- Personal Reflection: Engage in self-reflection to uncover personal biases and understand one's own identity and privilege using the intersectional wheel. (~10 minutes)
- The "Why" of Allyship: Explore the different motivations behind being an ally. (~10 minutes)
- Data-Driven Insights: Learn from the findings of LGBT Great's latest report, gaining data-backed perspectives. (~5 minutes)
- The 9 Archetypes: Discover the nine allyship archetypes and subsequently understand the one(s) that resonate with you the most. (~10 minutes)
- Actionable Steps: Walk away with concrete, practical actions to be a more effective and impactful ally. (~5 minutes)
- Dedicated Q/A: A dedicated Q/A slot at the end of the session. (~5 minutes)
Length: 45-60 minutes
Format: Zoom/Teams Webinar, PowerPoint Presentation with live Q&A, chat and live polling. (In-Person sessions available on-demand)
