About
Bio: Sami is currently the Managing Director of Data Operations & Technology Services for APAC at IvesTech and is part of the team responsible for supporting internal stakeholders with complex technological and operational support. Sami’s team looks after IT infrastructure, including Network & Cyber Security Services, Desktop Engineering & Support, as well as IT Solutions and Support. Additionally, the team is responsible for Portfolio Operations, which includes the execution of operational processes related to security reference data, securities valuation, securities analytics data, performance & benchmarks, derivatives data, portfolio accounting, and corporate actions among others.
Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2011, Sami worked in various operational roles and on the trading desk at BNY Convergex, now Cowen Execution Services (2008 – 2011). Sami earned an MA in organizational behaviour from Marist College (2009) and a BBA in finance, as well as dual BAs in economics and interpersonal communication, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (2008).
Sami is a longstanding member of the Pride+ network and APAC regional leader on LGBT+inclusion. Sami has been a driving force throughout the region, building regional awareness of LGBT+ issues in close collaboration with HR and the Women’s Business Network. His focus on education, awareness and effective allyship has been invaluable to furthering InvesTech’s LGBT+ DE&I agenda.
