About
Bio: Alan joined Brown Shipley as CEO in April 2018 from Santander where he held a number of senior leadership positions during his 22 years with the bank. These included Managing Director of Wealth Management and Private Banking, CEO Cater Allen Private Bank, CEO Santander Insurance, CEO Santander Cards and Managing Director of Santander's Branch Network. Alan has over 30 years' financial services experience and has attended the INSEAD Strategic Management in Banking Programme.
Since joining the firm, Alan has made inclusion a key business priority. He has worked to embed company-wide inclusive behaviours, launched an internal women's network, promoted flexi-working and signed up to HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter. He has also supported PIMFA Women in Wealth' initiatives. He has also increased gender diversity on the Executive Committee to 30% women from zero and has worked to put the building blocks into place to enable Brown Shipley to become a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Alan is delighted to be recognised as an LGBT+ executive ally and looks forward to building further foundations across the firm.
