He is currently chair of Northern Trust’s LGBT & Allies Business Resource Council in Ireland. Seamus previously worked at BNY Mellon in Dublin. His educational background is in Mathematics and Music.

Seamus is an openly gay man and values all areas of diversity and inclusion. Having grown up in rural Ireland and relocated to Dublin for university and work, Seamus has seen attitudes change in Ireland, specifically with regard to LGBTI+ inclusion. He is delighted to be a LGBT Great Role Model and looks forward to assisting in the project.

In 2014, Seamus and his partner registered a civil partnership, and following the passing of the Marriage Equality referendum in Ireland in 2015, were married in 2016.

Since becoming chair of the LGBT & Allies group in 2017, Seamus has completed Stonewall’s LGBT Role Models programme and participated in a reverse mentoring programme with senior management at Northern Trust. He regularly runs internal events to raise LGBTI+ awareness, including a global dress down day on IDAHOT day (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia), which raised over €1500 for Irish LGBT youth charity, BelongTo; and recently coordinated Northern Trust’s inaugural march in Dublin Pride on June 30th 2018. He is also an active participant at various LGBTI+ events in Dublin throughout the year.

Seamus values the importance of bringing your whole self to work, breaking down any barriers and inauthenticity. Northern Trust values their LGBTI+ staff, having recently launched a LGBT Ally programme, which is run several times throughout the year in Ireland.
