Scott is a corporate lawyer with extensive experience in the listed financial services sector. He is a FinTech enthusiast, a chartered company secretary and a diversity & inclusion advocate, mentor and network contributor.
Presently Scott is a senior in-house lawyer at Janus Henderson Investors, a dual-listed (NYSE/ASX) investment management group headquartered in London and with offices across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
He supports Janus Henderson’s executive team with major transactions, debt & equity funding, legal and regulatory developments, risk mitigation, corporate governance best practice, global projects and advises on the group’s Asia-Pacific retail fund ranges and institutional distribution initiatives.
Prior to joining Janus Henderson in 2013, Scott was a corporate associate at the London office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. He began his career in Sydney before relocating to London in 2011.
Scott believes that diverse and inclusive businesses have the greatest chance of unlocking the full potential of their staff, of delivering for their clients, of creating lasting value for their stakeholders, of innovating and adapting to change and of making positive and enduring contribution to society.
Scott mentors the next generation of diverse legal talent via the InterLaw Connect mentoring program, is an active member of the Janus Henderson Pride London employee resource group (which he helped establish in 2018) and has been involved in diversity & inclusion initiatives at Janus Henderson and within the broader UK investment industry since 2014.
Scott was admitted to practice as a solicitor in New South Wales (Australia) in 2006 and became a chartered company secretary and associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (Australia) in 2009. He holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney and bachelor degrees in Law and in Finance from the University of Newcastle (Australia).
