Mark moved to London from his hometown of Dublin in 2013. When Ireland became the first country in the world to approve same-sex marriage by popular vote Mark was delighted to marry his partner of 14 years in 2016.
During almost 3 decades in investment banking, asset management and consulting Mark has seen radical changes in how LGBT+ employees are regarded in businesses across the financial services sector. Although there has been tremendous progress Mark is of the view that there is still much to be done in the industry to help and support LGBT+ employees, from graduates to board directors, to reach their full potential.
In 2017 Mark joined JLT, one of the world’s leading providers of insurance, reinsurance and employee benefits related advice, brokerage and associated services. Mark leads the Investment Solutions business which provides investment management, investment consulting and fiduciary management services to individual and institutional investors in JLT’s Employee Benefits division.
In his last role as Head of UK Business at SSGA he was Executive Sponsor of State Street’s UK Pride Network and Chairperson of SSGA’s European Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Mark sits on the board of Irish Film London, a not for profit organisation that champions Irish film and animation in the UK with two annual festivals and a year-round screening programme that regularly features films with an LGBT+ theme.
In 2016 he was recognised for his contribution to LGBT+ diversity and inclusion in the Telegraph’s Out at Work Top 50 list.
