Claire Johnson

Head of Relationship Management and Sales Enablement at Columbia Threadneedle


Claire is the Head of European Client Services in the distribution team at Columbia Threadneedle Investments (CTI) where she has worked since 2020. Claire leads a team of professionals across the region and plays a key role in ensuring the firm builds strong relationships with clients and delivers service excellence. Prior to this, Claire worked for a Japanese investment management organisation within a European distribution role.

Over the last twenty plus years, Claire has worked in client facing roles within financial services and is strong supporter of diversity and inclusion and the benefits a diverse and inclusive environment brings to individuals and businesses alike. She holds a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology degree from the University of Surrey and really enjoyed the people aspects of the degree. She is also passionate about the environment and water sports and her favorite pastime is paddleboarding!

At CTI, Claire takes an active role in the company's diversity and inclusion drive. She regularly participates in diversity and inclusion awareness training and encourages colleagues and team members to engage too. As a passionate ally, Claire has been taking steps to learn more about different backgrounds and identities and she is an active member of the LGBT+ network. Areas of focus include ensuring no unconscious biases occur whilst recruiting; ensuring that diversity and inclusion, as well as being a shared objective for all across the CTI business, is taken into account during each day whether inside or outside of the work environment. Working to empower the LGBT+ community and diversity of colleagues across all our locations, ensuring people are able to feel comfortable being their true selves within the workplace.
