Bitesize Learning: Opportunities for LGBT+ inclusion in recruitment

Fri, January 11, 2019

Friday 11th January 2019, 8.30am - 9.30am. Warnford Court, 29 Throgmorton Street, London, EC2N 2AT.

There has never been a better time to get LGBT+ employer branding right. With more young people identifying as LGBT+ in the UK than ever before, there is an increasing talent pool in which the asset management industry could be benefiting from. Recent research indicated that over 80% of both LGBT+ and non-LGBT+ people are looking for visual demonstration of inclusion when making employment decisions. This is key and if potential talent cannot see visual demonstration of organisational commitment to LGBT+ inclusion, how can it possibly know if it exists?

Recruitment processes in the asset management sector need refreshing and if the industry is to attract talent from the widest possible pool, these processes must become more inclusive. What are the opportunities to attract and recruit more LGBT+ people? How can firms build an authentic narrative to demonstrate commitment?

We will also provide you with a number of ideas for you to take back to your firms. The session will be documented in a bitesize white paper and distributed to participants to produce a framework for discussion.
