"At PwC, I help organisations benefit from innovation and disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain. Diversity has always been important to me, and I've had the privilege of working with and leading diverse teams, but now it's more important than ever. It is, of course, the right thing to do for our people.
It's also a business imperative. Digital and societal disruption is continuous and accelerating, and for organisations to survive, let alone thrive, they need diverse thinking to manage uncertainty. Organisations have failed because they haven't kept up, and the common thread is not related to problems with technology or finance, they've fallen victim to group think.
In addition, organisations face greater challenges, and really need their people to bring their full selves to work. That's only possible with a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture. I enjoy strategy work that has concrete and beneficial outcomes.
Perhaps unsurprisingly my background is diverse. I have worked in cyber security, leading and contributing to leading-edge research on cyber security and information risk management, and organising content-rich conferences (topics included security architecture, the insider threat, application security and risk appetite). I have worked for large organisations and start-ups, as a head of research, a forensic technologist, an innovation consultant, an IT consultant and in a number of product marketing roles"
